Proper dress is REQUIRED for class participation,
and will be STRICTLY enforced!!

2009 - 2010 DRESS CODE

Mandatory Dress for ALL Dance Classes:

  • A good anti-perspirant deodorant MUST be worn!

  • Hair must be worn in a secure bun.

  • Short hair must be securely off the neck and pulled away from the face.

  • NO excessive make-up, jewelry, brightly-colored nail polish, tattoos, or body glitter will be permitted.

Dress Code for ALL Lyrical Classes:

  • Solid colored leotard & pink tights (No patterns, designs, etc.)

  • Shoes may be any of the following:
    Black or tan Bloch laceless jazz shoes - #S0401L 
    **Proper fit is important.  Please be sure shoes are NOT too big.**

Dress Code for ALL Jazz Classes:

Girls must wear:

  • Solid-colored leotard & pink or suntan tights (No attached skirts, patterns, etc.)

  • Tight-fitting black jazz pants/shorts may be worn during warm-up but are NOT necessary.

  • Black or tan Bloch jazz shoes (style # S0401L)
    **Proper fit is important.  Please be sure shoes are NOT too big.**

Boys must wear:

  • White tee-shirt & black shorts or pants

  • Black or tan jazz shoes
    **Proper fit is important.  Please be sure shoes are NOT too big.**

Dress Code for Tap Class (Red, Yellow, Blue, Teen):

Girls must wear:

  • Plain black leotard & pink or suntan tights (skirts are optional)

  • Black or tan Bloch maryjane tap shoes
    **Proper fit is important.  Please be sure shoes are NOT too big.**
    (Your child must be able to stand on the ball of her foot without her heels slipping out.)

Boys must wear:

  • White tee-shirt & black shorts or pants

  • Capezio or Bloch oxford tap shoes
    **Proper fit is important.  Please be sure shoes are NOT too big.**
    (Your child must be able to stand on the ball of his foot without his heels slipping out.)

Dress Code for Tap Class (Pink):

Girls must wear:

  • Plain black or pink leotard & pink tights (skirts are optional)

  • Black or white patent leather tap shoes with buckles or black or tan Bloch Maryjane tap shoes
    **Proper fit is important.  Please be sure shoes are NOT too big.**
    (Your child must be able to stand on the ball of her foot without her heels slipping out.)

Boys must wear:

  • White tee-shirt & black shorts or pants

  • Capezio or Bloch oxford tap shoes
    **Proper fit is important.  Please be sure shoes are NOT too big.**
    (Your child must be able to stand on the ball of his foot without his heels slipping out.)

Dress Code for Ballet Class (Pre-school, Pink):

Girls must wear:

  • Plain pink leotard with separate pink tutu & pink tights (No attached skirts, tutus, patterns, sequence, etc.)

  • Pink full-sole ballet shoes with elastic straps (either Bloch or Capezio brand)
    **Proper fit is important.  Please be sure shoes are NOT too big (in the toes).**

Boys must wear:

  • White tee-shirt & black shorts or pants

  • Black or white full-sole ballet shoes with elastic straps (either Bloch or Capezio brand)
    **Proper fit is important.  Please be sure shoes are NOT too big.**

  • Black or white full-sole ballet shoes with elastic straps (either Bloch or Capezio brand)

Girls must wear:

  • Plain black leotard & pink tights (No attached skirts, tutus, patterns, etc.)

  • Pink split-sole ballet shoes with elastic straps (either Bloch or Capezio brand)
    **Proper fit is important.  Please be sure shoes are NOT too big.**

Boys must wear:

  • White tee-shirt & black shorts or pants

  • Black or white split-sole ballet shoes with elastic straps (either Bloch or Capezio brand)
    **Proper fit is important.  Please be sure shoes are NOT too big.**

Dress Code for Ballet Class (Blue II ):

Girls must wear:

  • Plain light-blue or navy blue leotard & pink tights (No attached skirts, patterns, etc.)

  • Pink split-sole ballet shoes with elastic straps and pointe shoes if requested by the teacher
    **Proper fit is important.  Please be sure shoes are NOT too big.**

  • 1" colored dance belt

Boys must wear:

  • White A-Line tee-shirt & black shorts or pants

  • Black or white split-sole ballet shoes with elastic straps (either Bloch or Capezio brand)
    **Proper fit is important.  Please be sure shoes are NOT too big.**

Dress Code for Ballet Class (Navy & Maroon-{Thursday}):

Girls must wear:

  • Plain maroon leotard & ballet pink tights (No attached skirts, patterns, etc.)

  • Pink split-sole ballet shoes with elastic straps and pointe shoes, checked by instructor before ribbons are sewn
    **Proper fit is important.  Please be sure shoes are NOT too big.**

  • 1" colored dance belt

Boys must wear:

  • White A-Line tee-shirt & black shorts or pants

  • Black or white split-sole ballet shoes with elastic straps (either Bloch or Capezio brand)
    **Proper fit is important.  Please be sure shoes are NOT too big.**
